The firm assists companies in the raising of capital, both debt and equity, on either a direct investment basis or through collaborative relationships with other firms.
BCI's rather unique distinction in this arena is the combination of Transactional Advisory Services with its well-established operational consulting skills. This combination of talents and expertise often creates an ability for BCI to finance difficult transactions because of its long-standing eminence and credibility in the realm of corporate assessment and rehabilitation. A business plan and financing request prepared and assessed by BCI and subsequently forwarded to the BCI capital sources network is simply a more credible document and, therefore, creates a more attractive financing opportunity compared to a client's typical plan asserting that "more time and more money" will create a favorable outcome. Lenders, investors, and buyers almost uniformly value BCI's insight and assessment of opportunities. This results in an enhancement of the credibility of the company's plan and often will make the difference in the financeability of a transaction. Further, it is common for clients to achieve more favorable terms in their transaction as a result of the BCI consulting relationship. In fact, BCI believes that in most cases the improvement in transaction terms to the client more than offsets BCI's fees.
